Visitation of representatives of the Protestant Church in the Mühlenkreis district

On the occasion of the regular visitations of representatives of the Protestant Church of Westphalia, Head of Synod Alfred Buß, accompanied by a commission comprising 27 members, is currently visiting the Church District of Lübbecke. At the HARTING Technology Group, the Head of Synod met with a number of representatives of companies that are based in the region.

Following a short welcoming address and a brief presentation of the company delivered by Edgar-Peter Düning, managing director of HARTING Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, at the training and presentation center (SPC), a lively exchange of ideas and opinions unfolded. As Edgar-Peter Düning underlined: “The entrepreneurs Dietmar and Margrit Harting and the employees of the HARTING Technology Group are very pleased to be able to offer a suitable forum for this meeting.“

The three-hour event also dealt with training related topics. Jörg Netza, responsible for personnel development at HARTING, underlined the Technology Group’s strong commitment to providing training. “HARTING is dedicated to advancing and promoting junior technical employees and experts,“ as Jörg Netza related. In order to meet the demand for qualified expert and specialized employees, the family owned and managed company headquartered in Espelkamp intends to continue, now and in future, to train the majority of junior employees who will then be specifically deployed within the globally operating company group. Consequently, HARTING, as one of the member companies, had also become very strongly involved in founding phase of the “Dual study and training concept in the Mühlenkreis district“ interest association. Moreover, HARTING intends to continue to maintain this engagement in a consistent, ongoing manner. The guests also emphasized the significance of training activities in their companies and businesses.

Globalization and East West-Rhine Westphalia as an economic region were additional topics on the agenda. Also against the backdrop of the international orientation of many companies based in the region, the company representatives attending the meeting underscored their commitment to advancing and promoting “their“ home base of East West-Rhine Westphalia as an economic location.

In concluding the event, Edgar-Peter Düning stated: “The visitation resulted in an interesting, and multifaceted exchange that provided us with many insights.” And Head of Synod Alfred Buß recapitulated as follows: “We have ascertained that the strength of the region lies in the small and medium sized companies (Mittelstand) and the family owned and managed firms. We regard the strong engagement for training and the associated commitment to giving young people a perspective with great respect. Although the “product” is something entire different, we can learn a great deal from companies in terms of organization and structures.”
